Best Smartphones Under ₹15,000 in India
The sub-₹15,000 smartphone market has experienced a resurgence of 5G devices since the pandemic. While many manufacturers rushed to launch 5G-ready models, only a few provided genuine value. To cut costs, some opted to reduce camera quality or quantity, making it challenging to find a decent camera in this price range. Meanwhile, 4G smartphones continued to emerge, offering excellent features like splash resistance and stereo speakers.
Although the “5G tax” has decreased, brands like Motorola and Realme still release new 4G models, even with 5G services widely available. Notably, some recent 4G devices, such as the Realme C55, were excluded from our list due to subpar software performance. While we generally recommend 5G phones for future-proofing, we’ve included several 4G options since many new 5G models didn’t meet our standards.
Here’s our roundup of the best smartphones under ₹15,000 available in India right now, in no particular order:
1. Infinix Note 30 5G
The Infinix Note 30 5G is a versatile option, priced at ₹14,999 for the 4GB RAM variant and ₹15,999 for the 8GB RAM model. It features a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC, providing solid performance for casual use and mid-level gaming. The standout 108-megapixel camera delivers impressive shots in various lighting conditions. With a 5,000mAh battery and a 45W charger included, it offers quick charging, although its XOS 13 software can be a bit bloated and tricky to navigate.
2. iQoo Z6 Lite 5G
The iQoo Z6 Lite 5G combines attractive design with reliable camera performance at a competitive price. It includes 5G support (limited to two bands) and features a 120Hz refresh rate LCD display, ideal for gaming. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC and a 5,000mAh battery, it provides a solid entertainment experience, though it does not come with a charger, and the software could be better.
3. Moto G52
For those not ready to transition to 5G, the Moto G52 offers great value. This device features a 90Hz refresh rate pOLED display and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, focusing on entertainment. Its Snapdragon 680 SoC handles daily tasks and light gaming well, complemented by near-stock Android for a smooth experience. The 5,000mAh battery and included 33W charger enhance usability, while its IP52 rating offers mild dust and water resistance.
4. Redmi 10 Prime
The Redmi 10 Prime sports a 6.5-inch full-HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. It has a quad-camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary camera, but struggles in low-light conditions. With a large 6,000mAh battery and 18W fast charging support, it provides decent performance. Although it doesn’t quite match its predecessor, it still offers improved efficiency.
While the Redmi 11 Prime 5G adds 5G connectivity, consider this option only if 5G is a top priority for you.
